This piece is a figurative painting, inspired by the works of Elmer Bischoff. It is a self-portrait, illustrating a moment of realization of the looks of my body. Society expects me to look in a certain way. There are certain schemes, "ideals", patterns of how a person should look like. It is not only the society, who creates those expectations. We also create them for ourselves. It is partly caused by what we see in social media, yet still, it is the standards that we set for ourselves that influence us the most. And those standards are often impossible to fit into.
